Screencasts Embedded at the Help site

August 3, 2009

All screencast tutorials have been uploaded to Vimeo and embedded into the FYS Help site.  Their quality is the best they can be for non-HD videos on Vimeo.  We may investigate into purchasing an upgraded account at Vimeo to improve video quality.

New FYS Section Site Defaults

July 31, 2009

All FYS sections have been given one of the following as their theme: Cutline, Flex, K2, Light, Simpla, WP MU Default. You can view these theme options under “Appearance” in your administrative toolbar.

Additionally, all sections have had the following added as widgets: Search (allows the reader to search the site), Recent Posts (shows the last 5 posts), Pages (lists all pages by page title ), and Links (will show all links entered into the link manager in the administrative toolbar).

*ADDITION*

Also, now section blogs have one “dummy” post and page published.  Feel free to delete these as you begin setting up your sites.  Sections have 4 default links to important FYS sites (Help, Status, FYS homepage, and a link to login) categorized under “FYS Sites.”  The link category “Student Blogs” has also been created for when FYS teachers add student blog links to their link manager.
